Wolf Range Repair in North Beach
Conditions here
- Air Salt air near the water Damp, salty air settles on burner heads and caps, one of the things that can turn a clean blue flame ragged.
- Building Houses stepped down the slope Kitchens sit at different levels on the hill, so we ask which floor the range is on before carrying the case down.
- Access Steep drives, outside stairs Some front doors are reached by stairs from the street; a note about the easiest way in helps on a wet day.
North Beach steps down the slope towards the Sound, and its houses sit close enough to the water for salt and damp to reach the kitchen. On a Wolf range that air is one of several things that can leave a burner flame low, yellow or uneven. Wolf Repair Seattle, (206) 339-4211, works out which cause it is before touching a valve or an orifice, because several of the causes are simpler than either.
A flame that has changed
Wolf’s own list of flame faults starts with the easy ones: a spill or dirt on the burner, a cap or ring not seated properly, a pan too large for the burner, and humidity. Clean, dry and correctly seated is the first thing we check, and something you can look at yourself. Beyond that the list moves into gas supply pressure, the mix of gas and air, and the orifice, which is technician work and never an owner adjustment.
When a burner valve or orifice turns out to be the cause, the band it falls in is on the burner valve and orifice cost page; the rest of our range work is on the range repair page.
Up the hill
Above the beach, Blue Ridge has more room and more view, and the range there is often a wide dual fuel with two ovens to test.
